Arthrosamid® is an injectable hydrogel treatment for the symptomatic treatment of knee osteoarthritis in adults.
Unlike corticosteroid or hyaluronic acid injections, Arthrosamid® is a non-absorbable polyacrylamide hydrogel implant. It consists of 97.5% sterile water and 2.5% cross-linked polyacrylamide and is injected directly into the knee joint.
Following injection, the hydrogel integrates with the synovial tissue lining the joint. This is designed to help improve the properties of the joint lining and can result in reduced pain and improved function.
Arthrosamid® offers a minimally invasive, non-surgical option for the longer-term management of symptoms associated with knee osteoarthritis.

There are circumstances in which treatment should not be performed or additional precautions may be necessary. These can include certain infections, significant inflammation, previous procedures or implants within the knee and particular medical conditions.

As with any injection into a joint, side effects and complications are possible.
Reported effects following Arthrosamid® treatment can include temporary:

Swelling
A feeling of fullness or swelling within the joint
Formation or swelling of a Baker's cyst
