We know core exercises are good for you, but how often do you include them in your fitness routine?
Here’s why you should start doing so:
Core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work together, which leads to better balance and stability. The majority of sports and physical activity will benefit from stable core muscles.
Although it takes aerobic activity to burn abdominal fat, core exercises are important in strengthening and toning the underlying muscles.
Core strength can play a huge part on supporting and enhancing your existing aerobic and muscular exercise and fitness regimes.
There are numerous exercises that will help to strengthen your core, such as bridge, plank, and sit ups which can all be done in most places at any time. However, there are also less obvious core exercises, such as those that involve the use of your abdominal and back muscles in coordinated fashion. Again these can be done using your own equipment or as part of your current workout.
Weak core muscles can have a negative impact on your posture, which ultimately can lead to lower back pain and muscle injuries.
Strong core muscles make it easier to do many daily activities, such as hoovering, bending down or reaching high for items. In addition a strong core will help prevent fatigue, reduced endurance and injuries for athletes.
