What is MSK Rehabilitation?

Musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation (rehab)  is a service designed for people with impairments or disabilities due to disease, disorders, or injury to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or bones. Musculoskeletal rehab can often improve the person's ability to function, reduce symptoms, and improve the person's overall well-being.

What to expect?

The practitioner will talk to you about your condition, they will then perform an multiple tests. Your practitioner will focus on measuring impairments that may be causing your problem or that may be affected by your injury.

Common measurements taken during a physical therapy examination include

  • Palpation

  • Range of motion (ROM) measurements

  • Tests of strength

  • Functional mobility

  • Balance

  • Neurological proprioception tests

During the examination, your physical therapist should give you a sense of what may be helping or hurting your situation. Once the exam is complete, they will discuss a treatment plan moving forward.

Our MSK rehabilitation practitioners are qualified personal trainers with advanced knowledge in anatomy, physiology and injury rehabilitation.
